Our story, mission, and commitment to preserving martial arts heritage
Domus E was founded on September 26, 2021, in Antwerp, Belgium, by two passionate practitioners of Japanese and Eastern martial arts: Peter Jaspers and Joke Spoelders.
What began as a shared dream to create a space for martial arts enthusiasts has grown into a recognized non-profit organization (ASBL) dedicated to preserving and promoting these ancient cultural traditions.
Our founders recognized the need for a formal organization that could bridge the gap between Eastern martial arts traditions and Western communities, making these profound disciplines accessible to a wider audience while maintaining their authenticity and philosophical depth.
To promote, disseminate, and preserve various art forms, customs, and practices originating from Japan and Eastern cultures, with a particular focus on martial arts and their philosophical foundations.
To create a world where Eastern martial arts traditions are understood, appreciated, and practiced as living cultural heritage that enriches the lives of individuals and communities.
Respect for tradition, cultural authenticity, inclusivity, community spirit, and the belief that martial arts training develops both physical and mental well-being.
Domus E is a fully registered and recognized non-profit organization under Belgian law.
